So you talk about the surprise picks, Ty Simpson, clearly takes the cake.

The Rams have chosen their quarterback in the future.

I like the idea of getting a guy who you think has, you know, starting quarterback ability

and being able to put him in the incubator behind a really, really good guy.

Right.

I don't always think it's a great thing that you draft a quarterback and he just goes right to the bitch.

Oh, no, I think it's better to draft a guy and be able to put him on the bench for a year or two to learn.

I think you're totally right.

Ideally.

Absolutely.

The ideal scenario, because most of the time we're talking about guys getting drafted

pretty highly and they're usually behind pretty bad lines.

This is obviously the case is a little different with the Rams.

But Sam, when was the last time, has it ever happened where the reigning MVP had his

replacement drafted in the first round?

Like a couple of months after he won the MVP award? Yeah, fortunately, you know, you'll have a situation where he's going to be secure in his skin. He's MVP. He's the guy. And you know that you're grooming a guy, but you're fine with groominging a guy because you're, you know, you're on the tail end. Like if the lions had done that, it might have messed with Jared Goff's head. So, you know, it's interesting you say that because we've seen this happen. The Packers have done it a few times, right? And the veterans don't always like it. Right. And now the veterans aren't always told, I don't know if they talked to Stafford about it beforehand. So if he knew it was coming or not,

veterans don't always like it.

Now, maybe it seems like Matthew Stafford's a little bit of a different guy than, say, Brett Farford and Aaron Rogers. And so maybe he'll be a little bit more open to that kind of a role. And it's up to Stafford to keep him on the bench for two years. but the thing that angers these veteran quarterbacks that are like in this case,
