There was a lot said at SEC spring meetings, which started yesterday.

We heard from Commissioner Sanky on Monday before it started.

We heard from a bunch of coaches yesterday.

We'll get to that in a little bit.

But there's actually news from the Big 12 that I've got to get to first because we've talked a lot on this show about the Brendan Soresby

investigation and situation gambling, et cetera.

So the NCAA has denied Brendan Sorsby's request for reinstatement for eligibility.

And so I believe he has a, there is a court date coming up soon.

But I just can't imagine he's going to win.

But my biggest takeaway is the Texas Tech is apparently still going to fight this.

And there's a letter that, as a part of the fight, there's a letter from the president of Texas Tech, the school president, Lawrence Schovenecker, or however you pronounce his last name.

This is actually pretty comical, to be honest.

The NCAA bylaws governing Brendan's case have not adapted to the era of widespread

legalized sports betting that this generation of college athletes now has to navigate.

He is not the first college athlete to face gambling addiction,

and unfortunately, he will not be the last. Our responsibility as higher education leaders is to

create environments that support young people's growth, maturation, and success fit for the times

in which they live. Given that Brendan has taken accountability for his addiction and actions,

a brave act in any circumstance, but especially under the intense scrutiny of a national spotlight,

we believe that the best path forward for him is on campus among his teammates, embraced by the
