So as commencement weekend ends and everything comes to a close.

Last night we were hanging out.

And news comes down that Michigan President Santa Ono is the lone finalist for the job of president at the University of Florida and that he is scheduled to visit Gainesville this week.

I believe it's tomorrow.

And he is expected to assume his new role as the president of the University of Florida after their board of whatever they're called regents or whoever as they vote to approve him.

He is expected to start

that role this summer so apparently presidents don't have the same portal windows as athletes or

maybe he had to wait at the school year ended to enter the transfer portal for presidents i don't

know so i'd like to just bring a few things to mind first of all from october 10th 2024 so we're

only talking a few months ago.

The Board of Regents has extended President Santa J. Ono's contract through October 1st,

2032. He had just signed an extension. There was a lot going on on campus. Obviously,

athletically, Michigan had, in his short tenure, had been very successful. But there were a lot

of other things going on on campus,

and he,

it felt like for a while,

he was handling a lot of things well,

but if you go through the last few months,

he has made a lot of decisions,

or he and the regents have made a lot of decisions,

and he is the face of those decisions.
