So before we get to the action from the NBA last night, there was NBA news from yesterday.

Joe Mozilla, Boston Celtics coach was named the NBA coach of the year.

J.B. Bickerstaff finished second.

It was a fairly close second, but he finished second, and it was second for the second straight year.

And my initial reaction was disappointment.

And maybe there's still some of this in there.

And I shouldn't have gone so far away from this reaction after my initial reaction.

But the initial reaction was, can he get some recognition? I got some recognition. He finished second for the second straight year. But you think about what the team was when he took it over a couple of years ago and how far they have come, right? And we've talked a ton about that. And this is a regular season award. It's not about what you do in the postseason. Because if it, then Missoula wouldn't have won it either. They lost, or Missilla wouldn't want it. They lost first. But the, I feel like, you know, Bate last year, it just felt like he should have won the award. They went so far. They had come so far from where they had been the previous year. But even last year to this year to go from the 60 to the number one seed and have the great regular season that they did, felt like J.B. was going to get a coach of the year recognition. They felt like it was deserved and still feel like it was deserved. And maybe he doesn't get, part of the reason he doesn't get it is geography, as in there is bias towards Boston, New York, and L.A. and having lived here for as long as I have lived here, I understand, trust me, I understand the East Coast bias. I understand the L.A. bias. It happens in the NBA in particular. But I get it. It happens. and, you know, when you're in the middle of the country, sometimes you do get past.

I'm not sure that that's the case. in the NBA in particular. But I get it. It happens. And, you know, when you're in the middle of the country, sometimes you do get past.

I'm not sure that that's the case this time.

I just kind of felt that way when I first saw the, when I first saw the news.

And then first I went that back into the vote.

And again, J.B. finished in second. And it was those two guys had run away with the top two spots for,

uh, in the coach of the, uh, in the coach of the year vote.

But why is the, um, why is the, um, why is the coach of the Boston, uh, why is the coach of the Boston Celtics winning an award when you think

traditionally and recent years, you think of the, you think of the Celtics always

winning.

And that was my initial reaction, but I had, you know, kind of dismissed the fact that they

had traded Porzinger's, they had traded Holiday. They lost Al Horford for a free agency. Obviously, Jason Tatum had his injury and they didn't have him for much of the year. They still went 56 and 26 and had the number two seats in the Easter conference, despite the fact that they were a much different thing than they were last year. Now, when I still voted for J.B.

If I had a vote, I admit my bias.

I completely and totally admit my bias.
