So there is that. A couple of news and notes locally. First of all, a quick, congrats to Eastern Michigan Women's Golf. We talked about them on the show a couple of times briefly yesterday. But what a phenomenal run. So the Eastern Michigan women's golf team, as we discussed in the show yesterday, a couple years ago, they were in the ranked in the 200s.

They bring in a new coach.

The coach brings in a few new golfers, and apparently everything clicked because they

qualify for NCAA championships after going through the regional round and they make it to the NCAA championships.

And then once they're there, they play so well in the NCAAs that they make it to the top eight,

which means they get bracketed for match play and a chance to win the national championship yesterday in the morning,

the quarterfinals, and in the afternoon, the semifinals, and the quarterfinals yesterday,

the five-seed Eastern Michigan Eagles women's golf team beat four-seed Texas.

So the Longhorns got knocked off by the Eagles, huge upset last yesterday, early in the day in the first session,

as they won their quarterfinal match.

But then after winning their four-five, I guess they were the five-four match because they were the five-seed. After they knocked off the four-seat Longhorns, they moved on to take on number one Stanford. And Stanford's a buzzsaw. So ends up Eastern Michigan loses that. I believe it was five-nothing in that final match because they won three and a half. They earned three and a half points in the quarterfinals out of the five.

And then they took and then once they and then they lost all five matches in the afternoon in the

semifinals to Stanford.

But again, Stanford's a buzz saw.
